I was absolutely delighted when I logged into blogger today and found out my blog’s PageRank had increased from 0/10 to 2/10 overnight. I couldn’t believe my eyes! Only yesterday I had modified my blog by deleting some of the older posts and also a lot of PTC ads. I did’nt realise that would make a huge difference to my PR. Some say two months is a very short time to reach a PR of 2. Anyway I’ll continue to do what I’ve been doing and anyone interested in backlinking can leave their comments with URLs and I’ll either add the URLs to my “Backlinks for Free” post or to my new Blogroll which I’ll be creating shortly.However, I may not add blogs with no PR as it will affect my blog as well as other high PR blogs that I’ve added. This post is entirly focussed on the pros and cons of Bidvertiser and Adsense.
Bidvertiser – Ad Templates can be customised, their background colors can be changed. Many template types to choose from. Ad text colors/fonts can be changed.There is a template called “Free Type” where you can even edit the size of template. This is a big bonus as ads can be made to appear like they are part of your site.
Adsense – Customization is limited or almost NILL. Ads appear very UGLY at times.

Bidvertiser – You can CHOOSE what ads you want and REJECT the low bid ads.
Warning: If you reject low bid ads on sites with low traffic and PR you will only get one big ugly ad which says “Your ad here for free”.
Adsense – N/A

Bidvertiser – Payout limit is $10 and payment through Paypal.
Adsense – Payout limit is $100 through cheque.(Time factor is too high).

Bidvertiser – Ads dont appear according to your site content. Ads appear according to the category you choose from which cannot be changed later without special permission.
Adsense – Ads appear according to your site content.

Bidvertiser – Ad clicks are paid according to the bids the ads are worth. This is the most annoying part -> ONLY low bid ads appear on sites/blogs with low PR and traffic hence you can earn only peanuts if your traffic is low and vice-versa.
Adsense – All ads are worth the same as far as I know.

Bidvertiser – Not that Strict.
Adsense – Too damningly strict(I was banned!)

Pls respond as to what you prefer….

I have been working the last two months on getting backlinks to my site and improving my PR and finally I am getting a few rewards. I logged in to Google Webmaster to find out and currently it shows 66 External Links(Backlniks) and 92 Internal links. I prefer Webmaster to Alexa as Alexa takes a lifetime to update its Index. Alexa has not even updated my site’s thumbnail view when I switched to classic template two months ago! And it doesnt have a Ping option either. I dont trust the traffic rank shown by Alexa either. I prefer Google’s PR Toolbar. I dont know how many Backlinks it takes to reach a PR of 1 but I’ll get there soon I hope. In the mean time anyone interested in link exchange with me can leave their URLs by commenting. I’ll comment back and add your URL to my “Backlinks for Free” post if you will do the same for my blog URL on one of your posts.

Important: When you comment make sure you dont use Google/Blogger ID but instead use the “Name/URL” option as it helps you get a backlink.

I recently registered for mylot. Its a great site where you can make money by just responding to discussions or by starting your own discussion. You are paid on daily basis. Payment is made through Paypal. I guess mylot is better than PayPerPost which rejected my blog 4 times! Anyone interested in registering for mylot can click here.

I have finally decided to move my blog to an external FTP server. Therefore I would be publishing my blog under my new domain http://satishmania.co.cc. when i have modified it. Its useful in many ways to publish blogs to an external ftp server as we can upload data as well. I had decided a month ago that I would be moving my blog to a new domain. This would be like having two sites in one. I would be able to blog as well as use it like a regular website! And I can easily switch back to blogspot hosting if this doesn’t work.
It is fairly easy to move a blog to a new domain. I registered my domain at hyperphp which offered me unlimited web space and a disk space of 350 Mb for free. I had to then switch my blog template to a classic template because we can only publish blogs using a classic template on a new domain. Another advantage is I can upload the sitemap of my blog externally and update it every now and then which is possible with blogspot hosting. And I also feel the traffic will improve by publishing on an external domain as I can upload data to my blog and attract users. For a start I will be uploading a few Sci-Fi ebooks. And I’ll post my experience of using an external domain shortly……..
