January 4, 1962 – April 14, 2010

Peter Steele (aged 48), lead singer of the band metal Type O Negative died due to heart failure today! I am shocked and saddened by his death as Type O Negative was one of the first ever bands that listened to (way back in 2002). Peter was a giant of a man at 6 ft 7 in and had long black hair with vampire like looks! Very cool and gripping look! I loved the video of their song “Black no.1″ For details and tribute click here.

If there was ever a genre called “Slow and Heavy” music then Type O Negative would perfectly fit the bill. I really loved some of their songs like “Black no.1″ , “Christian Women” and “Blood and Fire” from their 1993 album Bloody Kisses. Their songs are kind of soothing when you are not in a good mood and feeling melancholic. I am proud to own their entire collection.

R.I.P Peter Steele…..

  1. I was really saddened to learn of Peter’s passing, too. I’m glad that you recognized him in your blog, as his genre contributed to metal…especially with the great interest in Vampire and Goth lore/material at this time.
