Jailbreaking iPad 2,4 running iOS 5.1.1

Jailbreaking an iPad 2 takes less than 5 minutes thanks to Absinthe. Follow these simple steps:

Firstly back up the data using iTunes if in case data is lost (which doesn’t usually happen)

Step One
Download the latest version of Absinthe from here: Absinthe 2.0 has arrived! | greenpois0n.com. As of this writing, the tool is version 2.0.1.

Step Two
Extract the downloaded archive

Step Three
Double click the absinthe-win-2.0.exe file from the folder that was just extracted. Note: For ease of use, run .exe files as an Administrator, either by default or by right clicking and selecting “run as Administrator”

This will create a new folder called absinthe-win-2.0

Step Four
Double click on that exe and connect your iPad to the computer via USB when prompted. Make sure to remove any passcodes or VPN settings you’ve previously set. Click the Jailbreak button to begin….

Your iPad will then reboot a couple of times and the whole process will take 2 to 4 minutes. You will then see a ‘Jailbreak Complete” prompt.

The iPad is now jailbroken! To confirm goto your springboard and check if Cydia icon is present. Upon starting Cydia the first time it will load up and run a few updates.

Onto the world of iPad

I have not posted for a while and that is because I have stopped fiddling with Android for now. Not that I dont want to but I had a bad experience with one of their tablets. It was a disappointment and I had it exchanged for an Apple iPad 2. I have nothing against Android but it was just a wrong tablet to buy (Funbook Pro).

Here after I will be mostly posting about iOS and iPad 2. Its an amazing handheld and the best I have owned so far. I have already jailbroken it and I am looking forward to post more and more.
