Windows Mobile 6.5 beta has been released and is available for download!

This is only compatible for Asus p527 windows mobile.

Instructions:

PC must be running Windows XP.

Active SYnc 4.5 must be installed on the PC.

Connect your phone through USB and sync it to your PC.

Open the downloaded .rar and extract it.

After syncing your phone start the installation by running the p527FUU.exe file.

Setup will complete in 10 minutes and reboot your phone.

Over the last one week I ve been playing around with various themes. One common issue with most Wordpress themes is that they don’t load as they are supposed to load on older browsers like Internet Explorer 6. Due to this reason I am still searching for a theme which suits all my requirements and at the same time loads on all browsers. I am also trying to do the scripting myself therefore it may take some time. However the website will be fully functional and available at all times.

Migration to Wordpress Complete

Finally I completely migrated my blog to Wordpress from Blogger. I managed to retain all the backlinks, SEO juice, Alexa Ranking and Google Pagerank of 3. I had to wait for 4 months after I purchased a custom domain in order to allow for the Backlinks to update and point to my new domain. This is a new begenning for my blog and henceforth you can expect a lot of changes. I thank all my Readers who have helped me achieve this!

Windows Mobile Registry Tweaks

Following are some of the registry tweaks for Windows Mobile 5 and 6. Make sure you have a registry editor like SK Tools installed on your Windows Mobile.

Enable ClearType in Landscape mode

To enable ClearType in Landscape mode: HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRotation = 0 (DWORD decimal)

To disable: HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRotation = 1 (DWORD decimal)

Make WM ask where to install a program

An alternative method of making WM5 ask where to install a program is by adding the “/askdest” option to the Windows CE loader:
HKCR\cabfile\Shell\open\command = ‘wceload.exe “%1″ /askdest’ (REGSZ string, no quotes)

Change the location of My Documents

Documents are opened in and saved to the device’s internal storage by default. You can change this location to, for example, your Storage Card:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\FileSyncPath = “\Storage Card\My Documents” (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
To return to the original location:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\FileSyncPath = “\My Documents” (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

Change the location of Temporary Internet Files
When browsing the web, pages and images are saved in the ‘Temporary Internet Files’ location. You can change this location to, for example, your Storage Card:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Cache = “\Storage Card\cacheie” (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
To return to the original location:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Cache = “\Windows\Profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files” (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

Difficulty faced in blog migration to Wordpress

I have been trying to migrate my blogger blog to Wordpress for quite sometime. I have googled and found various methods of doing so. However I seem to be facing the same issue over and over again. After importing the blog I lose the pagerank/SEO juice and also none of my permalinks point to my old blogger links even though I have changed the permalink format of my Wordpress to that of Blogger before migration. Now there is a new problem. I get an “Internal Server Error” if I enter the URL of my Wordpress. I tried changing the DNS settings for my domain and creating CNAME and A Record but I cant even get to my login screen at http://satishmania.utdisa.com. For the moment I have switched back to Blogger until I find a solution.

Blog migration to custom domain

After almost nine months of blogging I have decided to move my blog to a custom domain. Here after all my new and existing posts will be redirected to satishmania.com. My ultimate aim is to switch to a custom domain on Wordpress after about 2 months. I also have an FTP account which I’ll be implementing after I move to Wordpress as using FTP on blogger makes me ineligible to import my blog to Wordpress. The reason I moved to a custom domain before switching to Wordpress is to preserve my PR, Backlinks and the SEO juice. In about two months most of the serach engines would have updated my URLs to the custom domain thereby preserving my traffic which won’t require me to start from scratch after I switch to Wordpress. All my blog visitors will be auto-redirected to satishmania.com. For those of you interested in importing your blog to Wordpress here are some useful links.
